Description: A Class II spread toward the center shows on the 3 of the date, IGWT, the skirt lines, the curl of the flag below the B of LIBERTY and the star behind the head.

Die Markers:  Obverse: Light die scratch SSE from the lower left side of the E in WE to the gown folds behind the leg.  Light E/W die scratches through WE.  Reverse:  Heavy die scratches south from the upper underside of the TED of UNITED.

1939 50¢ WDDO-002

Description:  A Class V CW spread from a pivot at about 7:00 shows on the profile, the outer leaves, BERTY of LIBERTY, and IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs from the bottom of the N of IN to the top of the E in WE.  A short, vertical die scratch can be found to the right of the lower T in LIBERTY.  A die gouge (dot) can be found to the right of the lower 3 in the date.  Reverse:  A short die scratch runs north from the top left of the I in AMERICA.  A short, vertical die gouge can be found between the tops of the E and S in STATES.
