1941-D 50¢ WDDO-001

Description:  A Class II spread toward the center shows on the date, tips of the sunrays, bottom of the sunrays toward the gown, the curl of the flag below the I and R of LIBERTY, GOD and TRUST.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Two ESE/WNW die scratches through the date.  Heavy scratch west from the R of LIBERTY then turning slightly WSW through the upper leaves.  Reverse:  Die scratch from the inside of the R in DOLLAR northeast to the tail feathers.  A second scratch intersects the previous scratch at the top of the R and runs northwest into the rock.

1941-D 50¢ WDDO-002

Description:  Very close splitting on GOD, TRUST and the heel of the right shoe.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  E/W die scratch to the left of the upper area of the first 1 in the date.  Die scratch from the bottom of the first 1 in the date ENE to the lower curve of the 9.  NE/SW die scratches through the lower and center areas of the second 1 in the date.  Reverse:  The reverse of this variety is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1941-D 50¢ WDDR-001.  Light die scratches south from the eagle's beak and palette area.

1941-D 50¢ WDDO-003

Description:  Shows at least very close quadrupling on the 41 of the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  N/S die scratches through IN and WE of IGWT.  Reverse:  Thick, short polishing marks at the eagle's throat.  Die scratch SSW from the underside center of the A in DOLLAR to the rim.

1941-D 50¢ WDDR-001

Description:  Shows doubling on some of the letters of EPU, the eagle's talon and leg plumage on the left side, the pine needles and pine cone toward the eagle.  Doubling on EPU is strongest on the M of UNUM.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  The obverse of this variety is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1941-D 50¢ WDDO-002.  E/W die scratch to the left of the upper area of the first 1 in the date.  Die scratch from the bottom of the first 1 in the date NE to the lower curve of the 9.  NE/SW die scratches through the lower and center areas of the second 1 in the date.  Reverse:  Light die scratches south from the eagle's beak and palette area.
