1946-S 50¢ WDDO-001

Description:  A close Class II spread towards the center shows on the sun rays, the left lower gown and IN of IGWT.  Tripling shows on the far left lower gown.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  E/W die scratch below the right side breast.  Reverse: The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1946-S 50¢ WDDR-002.  A close spread shows on the plumage above both claws of the eagle, the lower pine needles closest to the eagle, and the F of HALF.  The reverse is also an RPM listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1946-S 50¢ WRPM-001.  It is an S/S North.  Light die scratches north above the eagle's head.

1946-S 50¢ WDDO-002

Description:  A spread toward the center shows on the sunrays, the lower gown on the left, the right side shoe and the date.  Extra thickness shows on IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  N/S die scratch between IN.  Die scratches north from the left wing of the W in WE.  Reverse:  Light die crack on the bottom of the longest two right side wing feathers.

1946-S 50¢ WDDR-001

Description:  A spread toward the center and strong extra thickness shows on the letters around the rim, the dots, EPU, the pine needles and the pine cones.  A third hubbing shows tripling on some of the letters.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  NE/SW die scratches on both sides and inside the 6 in the date.  Reverse:  Die scratch SE from the right center of the R in AMERICA to the I.

Description:  A close spread shows on the plumage above both claws of the eagle, the lower pine needles closest to the eagle, and the F of HALF.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  The obverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1946-S 50¢ WDDO-001.  A close Class II spread towards the center shows on the sun rays, the left lower gown and IN of IGWT.  Tripling shows on the far left lower gown.  E/W die scratch below the right side breast.  Reverse:  The reverse is also an RPM listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1946-S 50¢ WRPM-001.  It is an S/S North.  Light die scratches north above the eagle's head.
