1937-S 10¢ WDDO-001

Description: A Class II spread toward the center shows on the date and behind the lower neck.

Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Two die scratches from the chin, one running south through the O of GOD and the second running south between the O and D of GOD.  Two SW/NE die scratches inside the forks of the Y of LIBERTY, closer to the left fork.  Series of E/W die scratches running through the left side of the lower hair.  Die scratch parallel to the rim from the upper R to Y of LIBERTY.  Obverse Stage B: All die scratches gone except the scratch parallel to the rim.  Die gouge inside the upper 9.  Reverse Stage A: Short N/S die scratch above the axe in a relative position with the right side of the A in STATES.  Reverse Stage B: N/S die scratch between stem and lower fasces.

1937-S 10¢ WDDO-002

Description: A Class II spread toward the center shows on the date and IGWT.

Die Markers: Obverse: A die scratch runs south from the bottom of the nose.  A circular die scratch pattern shows on the head and to the right of the bust.  Reverse: The mintmark is tilted and into the leaf.

1937-S 10¢ WDDO-003          “Best Of” Variety

Description: A Class II spread toward the center shows on the date and IGWT.

Die Markers: Obverse:  A die scratch connects the top of the 3 and the 7 in the date.  Two die scratches form a thin “V” to the right of the back of the neck.  Numerous NNW/SSE die scratches can be found to the left of the bust.  A circular die scratch pattern shows on the head and to the right of the bust.  Reverse: The mintmark is just below the leaf.

1937-S 10¢ WDDO-004

Description: A Class II spread toward the center shows on the date.

Die Markers: Obverse: A circular die scratch pattern shows on the head and to the right of the bust.  Numerous N/S die scratches can be found to the left of the bust.  A die crack runs from the rim at about 6:00 into the lower neck.  Reverse: The mintmark is just below and to the right of the leaf.

1937-S 10¢ WDDO-005

Description: A Class II spread toward the center shows on the date.  Earlier die state coins may show additional points of doubling.

Die Markers: Obverse: A die scratch runs parallel to the rim to the left of the Y in LIBERTY.  A die crack runs from the rim to the lower wing feathers just to the left of the T in LIBERTY.  A N/S die crack can be found in the hair between the bonnet and the face.  Reverse: The mintmark is below and to the right of the leaf.
