Reverse Stage A: A light die scratch runs south from the bottom of the second U in PLURIBUS. Light N/S die scratches can be found between the top of the torch and the upper olive leaves. A die scratch runs SSW from the bottom right tip of the A in STATES. Reverse Stage B: The Stage A die scratches are weaker, but still visible.

Obverse Stage B: Nearly vertical die scratches can be found to the left of the lips, nose, and eyes. Reverse Stage A: A small die gouge can be found on the inner left side of the first U in PLURIBUS. A small die gouge can be found to the left of the top of the oak leave that is to the right of the upper bands. Reverse Stage B: N/S die scratches run through the E and the P in PLURIBUS. Die scratches run from the 2nd A in AMERICA to the right dot.
