1948-S 25¢ WDDR-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A strong CW spread from a pivot at about 10:00 shows on QUARTER DOLLAR, EPU, STATES OF AMERICA, and the lower wreath.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Several short die scratches run SW from the center left of the R in LIBERTY.  A short strong die gouge runs west from the bottom of the Y in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  The reverse also has an RPM listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1948-S 25¢ WRPM-009.  It is an S/S Tilted (Rotated).  A die scratch runs NNW from the bottom left of the L in PLURIBUS.  A vertical die scratch can be found between the U and N in UNUM.  Numerous die scratches run NNW/SSE to the left of the eagle’s neck.
