Description: D & D West and Tilted. A totally separated D west of the main D is rotated about 70 degrees CW and appears to be sitting on the front of the vest.
Die Markers:Obverse: A small die gouge can be found above and between the six and zero in the date. A die scratch runs SW/NE inside the upper nine in the date. A short die scratch runs north from the top left of the Y in LIBERTY. Reverse: A die scratch curves east from the right side of the center of the T in CENT.

Comments: This one is not easy to see. You need to play with the lighting to see the nearly complete curvature of the D mint mark. The errant punch is not completely missing the vertical bar of the D and there are die scratches around the misplaced D further making it difficult to see. I suspect that this one will be met with skepticism by some.

Comments: It is a later die state that was examined resulting in a weak image of the inverted D mint mark. The vertical bar is somewhat strong while the curve of the alleged D is fairly weak. I would love to see an earlier die state of this interesting variety which is sure to create a stir in die variety circles.
