Philadelphia Obverse Varieties

2019-P 25¢ NMI WDDO-001

Description:  Significant extra thickness shows on IGWT and OF AMERICA with lighter extra thickness showing on the RTY of LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  VLDS with some die deterioration doubling especially near the rim.  Reverse:  VLDS.  Strong die deterioration doubling throughout the reverse.  A pre-die chip depression can be found just above the flag farthest to the right.

2019-P 25¢ NMI WDDO-002

Description: Significant extra thickness shows on the RTY of LIBERTY.

Die Markers: Obverse: VLDS with severe die deterioration doubling especially on QUARTER DOLLAR. Reverse: None significant.

Comments: The photos for this variety that were published in Wexler's monthly Coin World column were actually of a 2001-P North Carolina quarter with die deterioration doubling. The correct photos, shown below, were erroneously used in a separate column in place of 2020-P 25¢ VI WDDO-002.
