1899 25¢ WDDR-001     DELISTED - COUNTERFEIT

Description: A Class II spread towards the center shows on USA, QUARTER DOLLAR, the arrow shafts, both wing tips, the left edge of the banner, and the eagle's legs. QUARTER also shows evidence of a CW spread while AMERICA shows CCW spreading. The upper letters of DOLLAR show multiple close hubbings, most likely 5.

Die Markers: Obverse: None noted. Reverse: Two die scratches through upper STA in STATES. Die crack from right wing tip north into rim above ST of STATES. Die scratch from top of banner above BU of PLURIBUS north to star.

Comments: This was previously listed in the Cherrypickers' Guide as FS-25-1899-801 but was removed in the 6th edition when it was found to be a die struck counterfeit. Photos and information will be left here for educational purposes.
