1883-O $1 WRPM-001

Description: O/O West

Die Markers: Obverse: Die crack east from the lower left side of the 1 in the date to the first 8 in the date. Reverse: E/W die crack connecting the top of the letters of UNITED. Die crack ENE from right center of the A in DOLLAR to the right side third leaf cluster of the wreath. Light die scratches south below the eagle’s beak. NNE/SSW die crack through the left wing tip. NNW/SSE die crack through OF and the right wing tip.

1883-O $1 WRPM-002

Description: O/O South

Die Markers: Obverse: WDDO-???, doubling shows on the 1 in the date. Die damage below the 18 in the date. Die scratch from the denticle located above the dot between PLURIBUS and UNUM. Reverse: Tool gouging shows inside the upper area of the ribbon. Tool gouging shows on the first, second, fourth, and fifth lead cluster of the wreath on the left side. Tool gouging shows on the upper area of the right wing.

Description: O/O West

Die Markers: Obverse: None visible. Reverse: E/W die gouge at the top of the C in AMERICA.

1883-O $1 WRPM-004     Listing Needed

Comments: The original listing is what is now VAM #31A. Once thought to be a O/O North, it was found to be an exceptionally strong polishing line inside the mintmark.



1883-O $1 WRPM-005

Description: O/O Southeast

Die Markers: Obverse: Tooling gouge at the back of the hair. Reverse: Light E/W die crack through the top of the ITE of UNITED. Die scratch SE from the dentil above the right side of the F in OF to the right wing.
