Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Die clash at throat. NW/SE die scratch extends from the hair below the D in GOD. Strong crisscrossing die scratches between the chin and the date. Strong N/S die scratch in front of the face. N/S die scratches behind the head and through LIBERTY. Strong NW/SE die scratches through the U in TRUST. Old NE/SW die scratch above the L in LIBERTY. Obverse Stage B: Most stage A markers abraded away. Die scratch below D still present. Thin N/S die scratches between the chin and the date. Die scratches extend north from the TY in LIBERTY. Old NW/SW die scratch below the U in TRUST. Obverse Stage C: Die gouge below the B in LIBERTY. Reverse Stage A: N/S die scratches in the field. Strong die scratch runs from the R in PLURIBUS to the O in ONE. Strong N/S die scratches through the E in ONE. Strong die scratch extends south from the T in CENT. Cluster of strong N/S die scratches through OF and the N in UNITED. Reverse Stage B: No stage A markers present. Thin NW/SE die crack through the right side of the lower right wheat ear. Die scratches extend north from the N in ONE. Long N/S die scratch between the U and N in UNITED. N/S die scratch through the last T in STATES and the last A in AMERICA. Old die scratch extends north from the top left of the T in UNITED. Old N/S die scratches between the tops of the N and T in CENT. Reverse Stage C: Old die scratches between the N and T in CENT and above the T in UNITED abraded away. Die crack in lower right wheat ear much larger.

Description: S/S West  

Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Strong die scratches run from the bottom of the first 1 to the field in front of the forehead. Strong die scratches run from the shoulder, through the RTY in LIBERTY, to IN and the field behind the head. Short N/S die scratches on the throat. Obverse Stage B: Die clash at throat. Obverse Stage C: Die scratches on throat abraded away. Stage B scratches weak, but still present. Thin N/S die scratches between the 1 and 9. Reverse Stage A: Thin NE/SW die crack on the right side of the lower right wheat ear. N/S die scratches in the field. Strong die scratches run from the C in CENT, through the N in UNITED and the O in OF, to the rim below the left wheat stem. Strong die scratch extends south form the bottom left corner of the E in EPU. Reverse Stage B: Thin die scratches abraded away. Die crack in lower right wheat ear extends further north. Reverse Stage C: Die scratches through left wheat stem very weak, but still present. All other stage B markers abraded away.

Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Strong N/S die scratches in the field. Strong N/S die scratches in front of the chin. Strong N/S die scratch runs from the R in LIBERTY to the shoulder. Die scratch in the shape of a V above the T in LIBERTY. Obverse Stage B: Die scratches above and below LIBE abraded away. V-shaped die scratch weak, but still present. Two weak die clashes at throat. N/S die crack in the hair above the ear. Obverse Stage C: Same as stage B. Obverse Stage D: Die clash at throat, die gouge above ER, and die scratch above T abraded away. Die scratch below R weak, but still present. Die crack in hair extends further south. Die crack runs south from the bowtie through the buttonhole, turns SW along the lapel, then turns south to the bottom of the bust. Obverse Stage E: Die scratch below R abraded away. Obverse Stage F: Stage E die scratches abraded away. Die crack across vest extends south to the rim. N/S die scratches in the field. Strong N/S die scratches through the date and mintmark. Crisscrossing die scratches above LIBERTY. Reverse Stage A: N/S die scratches throughout the reverse. Reverse Stage B: Stage A die scratches abraded away. N/S die scratches to the right of the E in ONE and through the right side of the N in CENT. Cluster of strong N/S die scratches through and above the ES in STATES. Short N/S die scratches to the left of the I in UNITED. Thin N/S die scratches below the E in EPU. Reverse Stage C: Die scratches through the E in ONE and the N in CENT are very weak, but still present. Reverse Stage D: Stage C die scratches abraded away. Die crack in left wheat ear extends further south towards the stem and further NW to the rim near the tip of the wheat ear. Reverse Stage E: Second reverse. Thin N/S die scratches in the field. Strong N/S die scratch to the right of the left wheat ear tip. Strong NNW/SSE die scratch between the A and M in AMERICA. Strong NW/SE die scratch through the A in STATES and the C in AMERICA. Reverse Stage F: No stage E markers present. Die crack extends north from the rim into the lower right wheat ear. This die crack connects with the wheat ear further north than the die crack on the first reverse. Thin N/S die crack through the upper left wheat ear. N/S die scratches in the field. Cluster of strong NNW/SSE die scratches through the T in CENT, the A in STATES, and the IC in AMERICA. Strong NW/SE die scratches through the bottom left of the C in CENT. Strong NW/SE die scratch between the F in OF and the first A in AMERICA.

Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: NE/SW die crack across the shoulder. Two light E/W die cracks across the hair behind the forehead. Light die crack above the eyebrow. Obverse Stage B: Secondary mintmark weak. Stage A die cracks stronger. Strong die crack extends south from the left side of the bowtie. New E/W die crack to the right of the uppermost stage A die crack. Die crack extends north from the ear to the lowest stage A die crack. Die crack on the 9. Reverse Stage A: Die chip on the T in CENT. Strong NNW/SSE die scratches through the N in CENT, the D in UNITED, the first S in STATES, and the ER in AMERICA. Strong N/S die scratch between ONE CENT and the right wheat ear. Reverse Stage B: Die scratches through the D in UNITED and between ONE CENT and the right wheat ear abraded away. Multiple die chips on the T in CENT.

Die Markers: Obverse: Strong N/S and NW/SE die scratches between the date and the chin. N/S die scratches in front of the face. Strong NNW/SSE die scratches behind the head and above the TY in LIBERTY. Strong NNW/SSE die scratches below the ER in LIBERTY. Die scratches extend south from the rim to the right of WE. Die gouge between the U and S in TRUST. Die gouge between the S and T in TRUST. Reverse: Strong NW/SE die scratches between the C in CENT and the UNI in UNITED. Strong curved E/W die scratches above and below the AM in AMERICA and through the ED in UNITED. Strong curved NE/SW die scratches run from the field above the O in ONE to the BUS in PLURIBUS. Strong die scratch runs from the top of the C in AMERICA to the bottom of the last S in STATES. Concentric die scratch near the rim left of the wheat ear.

Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: N/S die scratches in the field. Strong N/S die scratch in the field in front of the forehead. Die scratches in the shape of an X above the first 1. Strong NNW/SSE die scratch between the L and I in LIBERTY. Die scratches extend south from the right side of the R in LIBERTY. Die scratches extend NNW from the left side of the Y in LIBERTY. N/S die scratches inside the ear. E/W die scratches across the base of the bust to the right of VDB. Strong die gouge below the bust. Obverse Stage B: Thin die scratches abraded away. Most noted stage A markers weak, but still present. Die scratches NNE from Y still strong. Reverse Stage A: N/S die scratches in the field. Strong die scratches extend north from the top of the O in ONE. Short WNW/ESE die scratch above the lowest horizontal bar of the E in CENT. Strong NNE/SSW die scratch through the upper left corner of the N in ONE. Strong NNE/SSW die scratch runs through the E in ONE to the first U in UNUM. Strong N/S die scratch between the N in ONE and the N in CENT. Strong NNE/SSW die scratch between the C in CENT and the left wheat ear. NW/SE die scratch between the O in ONE and the PL in PLURIBUS. Die scratches in the shape of an X above the left side of the last S in STATES. Reverse Stage B: Most stage A die markers abraded away. Short die scratch inside the E in CENT and the die scratches above the O in ONE still present. Large die gouge through a wheat grain in the upper left wheat ear.

Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Lathe gouge near the rim positioned between WE and TRUST.  Die scratch NW from the rim at 7:00 o’clock.  N/S die scratch on the cheek left of the lower lip. Obverse Stage B: Stage A die scratches are weaker but all present. Obverse Stage C: Thin E/W die crack in the hair far above the ear. Obverse Stage D: Stage A scratches abraded away. A small die gouge touches the lower left side of the Y of LIBERTY. Obverse Stage E: Die crack on the 9. Die gouge above the E in LIBERTY. Die gouge far above the R of LIBERTY at the level of the upper/middle ear. Reverse Stage A: Long lathe gouge near the rim above the first U in UNUM.  Die chip on right center of the A in STATES. Reverse Stage B: Lathe gouge abraded away. Die chip at the A in STATES is very weak. Small die gouge between first and second lines of the right wheat tip. Short NE/SW die scratch above the O in ONE. Die gouge between the A in STATES and the IC in AMERICA. Reverse Stage C: Die gouge between STATES and AMERICA weak, but still present. Reverse Stage D: Die scratch above O and die gouge between A and IC abraded away. Reverse Stage E: No stage C markers present. Die gouge inside the last U in PLURIBUS. Die gouge left of the lower O of OF touching the left wheat.
