1971-S 1¢ Pr WDDO-001         "Best Of" Variety

Description:  An extremely strong Class II spread towards the center shows on LIBERTY, IGWT, the front of the vest, and the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  The mint mark is an RPM (S/S North) listed in the Wexler RPM Files as WRPM-005 (CONECA RPM #3).  Reverse:  A small die gouge can be found to the right of the bottom of the 2nd S in STATES.

1971-S 1¢ Pr WDDO-002         "Best Of" Variety

Description:  A very strong Class V CW spread from a pivot at about 6:00 shows on LIBERTY, IGWT, and slightly on the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs ESE from the rim to the left of the W in WE.  Reverse:  Die scratches run from SW to NE in the lower 10th and 11th Memorial bays.  A curving die scratch runs from SSW to NNE through the right Memorial base.

Description:  A strong Class V CW spread from a pivot at about 5:00 shows on LIBERTY and IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found between the lower I and N of IN.  Reverse:  None noted.

Description:  A very close Class II spread towards the rim shows on the date.

1971-S 1¢ WDDO-006

Description:  Doubling shows to the right of the upper second one and also above the 7.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A vertical die gouge can be found to the right of the 2nd T in TRUST.  A die scratch runs SE from the rim above the 2nd T in TRUST.  Reverse:  Numerous die scratches run from NNW to SSE through the letters of ONE.  Three parallel die scratches run NE from the lower right N in CENT to the T in CENT.  A die scratch runs ENE from the lower E in UNITED.  Numerous other die scratches can be found throughout the reverse.
