1927-D 1¢ WDDO-001 Description: An extra eyelid shows south of the primary eyelid. Die Markers: Obverse: A north to south die scratch runs parallel to the left side of the E in WE. Reverse: A die gouge dot shows to the SE of the dot between the E and P of EPU. A short die gouge protrudes from the top of the right wheat stem about midway down the stem. 1927-D 1¢ WDDO-002 Description: An extra eyelid shows very widely separated SE of the primary eyelid. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: The secondary eyelid is very strong. A strong D/D South RPM shows which is listed as 1927-D 1¢ WRPM-001. Two parallel die scratches run west to east across the upper forehead. Some lesser die scratches can be found in the hair above the forehead. Obverse Stage B: The secondary eyelid and the RPM are both weaker. Abrasion shows between the letters of IGWT and the rim. Obverse Stage C: The secondary eyelid is now very weak. The lower part of the secondary mintmark is nearly abraded away. Abrasion doubling shows above the letters of IGWT. Reverse Stage A: A die gouge (dot) shows in the field below the left side of the C in CENT. A short die scratch runs NE from the upper left N in UNITED. A short die scratch protrudes SW from the lower left leg of the R in AMERICA. Reverse Stage B: Light north to south abrasion lines show above UNUM. Reverse Stage C: Very heavy north to south abrasion lines show above and between the letters of UNUM.
