1969-D 1¢ WDDO-001          "Best Of" Variety

Description:  Doubling shows on the lower left 1, the lower left 6, and the upper left 9 in the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Light die scratches run north from the TY in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs from the N in UNITED through the top of the first two columns.  Nearly parallel die scratches run WNW from the lower first column.  Numerous die scratches run from WNW to ESE below the Memorial and north of CENT.

Description:  Doubling shows at an angle on the ceiling above the statue.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None significant.  Reverse:  None significant.

1969-D 1¢ WDDR-002

Description:  Doubling shows on the lower right side of the 6th column to the left of the statue’s legs.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Strong horizontal die scratches run through the fields in front of and behind Lincoln.  Reverse:  Die scratches run roughly NNW to SSE throughout several areas of the reverse including bay 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11, above and through ONE, and under AMERICA.  Die chips on columns 11 and 12.
