1986 1¢ WDDO-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A strong spread towards the center shows on the date and IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A:  A die scratch runs north from the top of the head below the D in GOD.  A light die scratch runs north from the upper left of the one in the date.  Obverse Stage B:  The obverse has been heavily abraded with numerous die scratches both in front of and in back of the bust.  Two die scratches run SW/NE below the eight in the date.  A long curving die scratch curves SE from the lower I in LIBERTY.  Die scratches run ENE from the lower lip.  Reverse Stage A:  A die scratch runs through the upper Es in STATES to the upper O in OF.  Reverse Stage B:  The reverse has been heavily abraded with numerous die scratches running through the lower Memorial bays.  Die cracks run from both Memorial base tips to the rim.
