Description:  Strong extra thickness shows on the letters of LIBERTY.  Moderate extra thickness shows on the date.  Strong “notches” show on the top left ERTY in LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found to the left of the center of the two in the date.  Obverse Stage B:  A die crack runs from SSW to NNE through the hair to the left of the upper ear.  A die crack runs NNE from the eyebrow curving north into the forehead.  Reverse Stage A:  None significant.  Obverse Stage B:  A die chip can be found on the top left of the shield north of the E in EPU.  A die crack runs along the top of the left side of the shield.

2013 1¢ WDDO-002

Description:  Extra thickness shows on the letters of LIBERTY and also on the date.  “Notches” show on the bottom left of the ERTY in LIBERTY and the bottom left of the two and one in the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A strong die gouge protrudes from the rim just to the right of the N of IN.  Several small die gouges protrude from the rim above the letters in GOD.  Reverse:  A short die gouge extends ESE from the rim above the O in OF.  A die scratch runs from SSW to NNE in the field above the ribbon north of the T in CENT.

2013 1¢ WDDO-003

Description:  Extra thickness shows on the letters of LIBERTY and also on the 20 in the date.  Very strong “notches” show on the bottom left of the ERTY in LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found to the right of the bottom of the chin.  Reverse:  A small die gouge can be found between the centers of the 2nd and 3rd stripes on the shield.

Description:  Strong extra thickness shows on the lower letters in USA with the strongest spread on the right side of the reverse.  Strong extra thickness also shows on the designer’s initials LB and JFM.  Notches can be seen on the lower left corners of the letters in ONE CENT.  Distortion shows on the incuse letters of EPU.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A:  A die gouge can be found to the left of the lower U in TRUST.  A die crack runs NNW from the front of the eyebrow into the front of the forehead.  Obverse Stage B:  Same as Stage A.  Reverse Stage A:  A light die crack runs along the top left edge of the shield.  Reverse Stage B:  Some die cracks and die chips can be found on the left side of the top edge of the shield.
